To sleep?

In Denmark :

Youth Hostel :

Car International Youth Hostel is not generally required to stay in a Danish hostels. Those who have not, however, pay an extra 35 Dk (4.70 ) per night, so it is best to have if you count sleep regularly.
It is cheaper to buy the card in France. If you have not, you can get it in the first hostel visited. For one year, pay 160 Dk (21 ).

Youth hostel in Copenhaguen.
In Copenhagen and in most tourist areas, like Skagen, the hostel are often full in summer.
For one night in a dormitory, pay between 150 and 250 Dk (20-33 €). The dorms are less popular in Denmark.  A double room is 340-520 Dk (45-69 €) with shared facilities and can reach more than 750 Dk (€ 100) with private baths.
They are in fact real small hotels. The sleeping bag is everywhere forbidden. What is needed is a sleeping bag or rent sheets in 50 Dk (6.70 ).
Our remark : It's perfect for students the winter or in big cities!

The sleep-in

These AJ "municipal". Generally good atmosphere, but attention to your business ...No Card Youth hostel needed. Pay between 125 and 180 Dk (26.50 to 24 €) per bed.
The campsite :

There are a lot of campsites, most well equipped. The shower is often paid. Almost everywhere, there are facilities to keep the kids.
Many campsites have small wooden bungalows for two to six people. Here, prices are close to those of a hotel room, but it can accommodate up to six. Some campgrounds rent tents and caravans already installed.

It's obligatory to have a valid camping card, called Camping Card Scandinavia here. It is obtainable on the Internet, on-site camping at the first meeting, or the local office of tourism. In 2010, it cost 100 Dk (€ 13.50) for a couple and their children under 18. In addition, each must be in possession of his own card. It is valid in all the Nordic countries and even the rest of Europe.
For stage one night, the card is available for transit Dk 35 (€ 4.70).

Price :
According to the level of facilities, between 135 and 220 Dk (18-29 €) for two with a tent or a little more. Rates are higher than 20 or 30 Dk in the heart of the season.

As for bungalows, prices vary are near 300-350 Dk (40-46 €) for a simple bungalows, 800-1 to 000 Dk (107-133 €) for a very comfortable minichalet kitchen and bathroom.

Our remark : It's perfect for students the summer when the weather is good !

Sleeping out, under the stars !

Camping is prohibited in principle. In a country concerned with the protection of the environment, some regions have developed campgrounds summary (free or inexpensive), without water, with just the locations for walkers without an car or moto.

B&B :
Almost all tourist offices have a list of homes. Many B & B offer only single beds, narrow, sometimes placed in length.

We must pay pay a commission of
35 to 100 Dk (4.70 to 13.30 €) for commission at tourist offices. Pay between 400 and 500 Dk (53.50 to 66.50) for two, without breakfast.

Hotels :

Very expensive and often poorly maintained, especially in Copenhagen. In Copenhagen near 600-700 Dk (80-93 €) double with shared facilities, and Dk 800-900 (107-120) with private baths in a 1 or 2-star breakfast included (rich, of course). It's just cheaper in the rest of the country.
